🏞️ Promoting Nepal’s Tourism and Climate Initiatives
In his address, Ambassador Dornath Aryal emphasized the global importance of Mount Everest (Sagarmatha). He spoke about its ecological and symbolic power, highlighting Nepal’s role in the global climate conversation.
He introduced the recent Sagarmatha Sambaad, a global climate dialogue held in Kathmandu from May 16–18, 2025. The conference focused on “Climate Change, Mountains, and the Future of Humanity.” It concluded with a 25-point Call for Action.

🧗‍♀️ Everest Climbers Honored During Sagarmatha Day 2025 Celebration in Muscat
Ms. Nadhira Al Harthy, the first Omani woman to summit Everest, shared her inspiring journey. She also spoke about her recent participation in the Sagarmatha Sambaad. Her speech captivated the audience and received a warm response.
She was honored with a traditional Nepali shawl, and 13-year-old Master Shiva Kochale was also recognized for reaching Everest Base Camp in April 2025.
🎥 Culture and Nature on Display
Guests enjoyed a video and PowerPoint presentation showcasing Nepal’s stunning landscapes, cultural richness, and the majestic Himalayas. These visuals reinforced Nepal’s image as a prime destination for eco-tourism and adventure travel.
As a souvenir, each guest received a framed photo of Mount Everest (Sagarmatha) — a heartfelt gesture from the Nepalese Embassy.
Republic Day Ceremony at the Embassy
Earlier in the day, the Nepal Embassy in Muscat held a flag-hoisting ceremony to observe Nepal’s Republic Day. Ambassador Aryal spoke about the country’s journey to democracy and its vision for the future.
