Muscat – The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) recently hosted the inaugural Oman-Uzbekistan Business Forum, marking a significant step towards enhancing trade and investment ties between the two nations. The event served as a dynamic platform for exploring lucrative export and import opportunities and fostering deep economic collaboration.

Coinciding with the visit of a 20-member delegation of Uzbek businesswomen—representing industries such as real estate, design, electrical engineering, textiles, private education, healthcare, and trade—the forum highlighted the growing role of women entrepreneurs in driving innovation and economic growth. HE Abdul Salam Khatamov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Oman, emphasized the forum’s importance in strengthening bilateral economic relations and underlined the need for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic business partnerships.

Siham bint Ahmed al Harthi, Board Member of OCCI and head of its Tourism Committee, pointed out that this first-of-its-kind forum focused on identifying new areas of cooperation and investment opportunities across various industries. She reiterated OCCI’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs and enhancing private sector engagement between Oman and Uzbekistan.
