Muscat: Oman continues to reinforce its international diplomatic relations, hosting a series of high-level meetings on Wednesday. Gen. Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’mani, Minister of the Royal Office, welcomed senior officials from Afghanistan, Iraq, and Romania to discuss bilateral cooperation, trade, and regional stability.
Oman and Afghanistan Discuss Bilateral Cooperation
Gen. Al Nu’mani held talks with Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, along with his delegation.
The meeting focused on strengthening diplomatic ties, expanding economic cooperation, and exploring opportunities for political collaboration. The Chargé d’Affaires of Afghanistan’s Embassy in Muscat was also present, emphasizing the continued diplomatic engagement between Oman and Afghanistan.
Oman-Iraq Diplomatic Talks Focus on Trade & Security
In another key meeting, Gen. Al Nu’mani met with Qais Saad Al Amri, Ambassador of Iraq to Oman, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Both sides explored trade, investment, and security cooperation, aiming to strengthen economic and cultural ties. The meeting also touched on regional developments, with both nations reaffirming their commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East.
Oman Bids Farewell to Romanian Ambassador
Oman also hosted a farewell meeting for Florin Marius Tacu, Ambassador of Romania, as he concluded his diplomatic mission in the Sultanate.
Gen. Al Nu’mani expressed gratitude for the ambassador’s efforts in deepening Oman-Romania relations, particularly in education, trade, and diplomatic cooperation.
The ambassador praised the strong ties between Oman and Romania, highlighting ongoing collaborations in business and cultural exchange. He thanked Omani officials for their support and hospitality during his tenure.
