Royal Decrees in Oman: Visa Waiver with Russia & Governance Centre Cancelled
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued Royal Decree No. 53/2025, ratifying a visa waiver agreement between Oman and Russia signed on 22 April 2025. Meanwhile, Royal Decree No. 52/2025 announced the cancellation of the Oman Centre for Governance and Sustainability, transferring its assets and staff to the Financial Services Authority.

Oman Launches ‘Health-Promoting Schools’ Initiative
The Ministries of Education and Health and Al Jisr Foundation signed a 5-year agreement to support over 566 schools through the Health-Promoting Schools Initiative. The program focuses on academic improvement, disease prevention, and mental well-being. Al Jisr will fund top-rated schools and launch a digital platform and guidebook.
Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Nizwa: A Symbol of Omani Heritage
Located in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate, the Sultan Qaboos Mosque blends traditional architecture with modern utility. It covers 8,000 sqm, accommodates over 9,800 worshippers, and features a library, Quranic classrooms, and a multi-use hall. The mosque’s iconic four minarets and central dome reflect authentic Omani design.
Al Buraimi to Get Modern Transport Hub
A new 56,000 sqm transport hub will be developed in Al Uqda Al Shamaliyah, Al Buraimi. The agreement between the Governorate and Mwasalat Company includes smart taxi stations, retail areas, and eco-friendly design. Construction starts in three months and will complete within three years, supporting Oman Vision 2040.
