Muscat, Oman – Under the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, led the Sultanate’s delegation at the Extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo, Egypt.

During his address, Sayyid Badr conveyed the warm regards of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to all participating leaders. He also extended Oman’s deep appreciation to Egypt, the State of Palestine, and the Kingdom of Bahrain for their efforts in organizing this crucial Arab summit.

Oman Rejects Forced Displacement of Gazans

The foreign minister strongly condemned statements advocating for the forced displacement of Gaza’s residents under the guise of “reconstruction.” He labeled such actions as crimes against humanity under international law and reaffirmed Oman’s categorical rejection of these unjust policies.

Israel’s War on Gaza: A Dark Chapter in History

Sayyid Badr highlighted the devastating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, describing the ongoing Israeli aggression as a “dark scene in the history of humanity.” He emphasized the catastrophic toll, including tens of thousands of martyrs, countless injured individuals, thousands of missing persons, and the widespread destruction of vital infrastructure across the Gaza Strip.

Violations of Ceasefire Agreements and Humanitarian Blockades

The Omani foreign minister criticized Israel’s continuous violations of ceasefire agreements. He pointed out that despite international calls for peace, Israel persists in blocking humanitarian aid, targeting civilians in Gaza and the West Bank, and continuing land confiscations. Additionally, he stressed that the number of detained Palestinians has surpassed those who have been released, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

Call for Permanent Ceasefire and Unrestricted Humanitarian Aid

Marking a year since the International Court of Justice (ICJ) called for urgent action to halt these crimes, Sayyid Badr lamented the lack of real commitment from Israel. He reiterated Oman’s firm demand for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and urged the international community to ensure the safe and unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged region.

Oman’s Commitment to Peace and Justice

Oman remains steadfast in its call for justice and peace in Palestine, advocating for international intervention to uphold human rights and prevent further atrocities. The Sultanate continues to support diplomatic efforts to end the conflict and alleviate the suffering of innocent civilians in Gaza.
