Muscat – In a vibrant celebration of art and culture, the Ministry of Information marked the grand opening of its new theatre this evening. The ceremony, attended by H E Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Harrasi, Minister of Information, along with dignitaries, officials, media professionals, artists, and cultural enthusiasts, set the stage for an evening full of creativity and innovation.

A Captivating Cultural Performance

The grand opening featured an enthralling concert by the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by the Royal Guard of Oman’s Enthusiastic Chanting Team. Their performance seamlessly blended traditional Omani national and heritage songs with a mix of modern musical compositions and Arabic tunes. The live musical display, enriched by a diverse range of instruments, beautifully showcased Oman’s deep cultural richness and artistic legacy.

Innovative Hologram Presentation

A standout moment of the event was the hologram presentation titled “Omani Media: A Return to the Roots.” This futuristic display traced the evolution of Omani media—from traditional press, radio, and television to today’s modern digital platforms. It highlighted the strong connection between heritage and knowledge exchange, underlining the ongoing transformation in how Omani culture and media are shared.

Commitment to Cultural and Media Excellence

Further enhancing the ceremony, a visual presentation demonstrated the Ministry of Information’s dedication to promoting Oman’s values, humanitarian principles, and national message. This segment emphasized the Ministry’s efforts in training media and technical professionals, equipping staff with cutting-edge technologies, and celebrating the impressive achievements of its media outlets in 2024.

The New Theatre: A Hub for Arts & Creativity

The newly inaugurated Ministry of Information Theatre is designed to seat 500 guests within its 560 square metres of space and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The Ministry plans to utilize the theatre as a vibrant hub for arts and creativity, showcasing Oman’s media, cultural, and artistic achievements. This initiative is set to further strengthen the country’s cultural and media landscape, providing a modern venue that honors both tradition and innovation.
